Established in 1996 as Perennium Networks in California, Foundry Networks is considered as a leader of network technology. Having been the first to build Gigabit Ethernet Switches, the company became one of the most recognized names in network industry. They are one of the first companies that manufactured routers that can easily handle data intensive environments. The company was acquired by Brocade in 2008 in an effort to expand Brocade’s services.
